On September 17, America’s most prominent authors of marijuana books will gather for a night of celebration and discussion in ‘The Cannabis Author Showcase IV‘ at 6PM at The Rock Steady cocktail bar in uptown Oakland.
One of the books that will be featured that evening is ‘The Cannabis Manifesto,’ written by Stephen DeAngelo, founder of Oakland’s Harborside Health Center, the world’s largest cannabis dispensary. The book is a personal autobiography detailing the life of a ’60s radical-turned-social entrepreneur against the backdrop of marijuana history—from its prohibition up to its legalization in the field of medicine. DeAngelo will appear for an exclusive sneak peek, book signing, panel discussion, and one-on-one Q&A as part of the promotion for his book, which will be formally launched on September 22.
Other authors participating in the event are Ellen Komp, author of ‘Tokin’ Women: A 4000-Year Herstory;” Michael Backs, writer of ‘Cannabis Pharmacy;’ and Cheri Sicard, who wrote ‘Mary Jane: The Complete Marijuana Handbook for Women.’
These authors will engage in one-on-one Q&A sessions with Smell the Truth editor David Downs. Roundtable discussions, open forum, and book sales and signings will also be done.
Attendance is free but RSVP is required. Sign up for TheHash podcast to learn more about the event.
